On Friday, December 2nd, the always lovely, personable, and energetic resident Margaret Hennen at Bishop Rehabilitation & Nursing Center on James Street celebrated her 104th birthday with family, fellow residents, and staff.

A native of Syracuse who also lived down the road on James Street, Ms. Hennen, according to her niece Marie Pullano, was a most reliable and respected employee who worked for 40 years in the print shop at Crouse-Hinds Company, later known as Eaton Crouse-Hinds. Margaret was 65 years old upon retirement.

Additionally, Ms. Hennen is of Italian descent. Following her retirement, she married her love, Mr. Roman Hennen, and relocated to Arizona to live the good life, playing golf and entertaining friends. Margaret also loved traveling to Europe, visiting Italy and throughout the continent, which was her passion.

Now in 2022, at 104, Margaret was all smiles with a delicious birthday cake, plus a corsage and a “104” sewed onto a shirt she wore, thanks to the recreation staff at the 440-bed nursing facility Bishop Rehabilitation & Nursing. Happy 104th, Margaret!
